My husband likes to have a stash of rubber eggs that he leaves at peoples houses when we visit. Jacket pockets, fridges, cupboards. My dad once boiled one by accident!
Dave is cool. He reminds me of the Shirley Hughes picture book about Alfie whose best mate is a pebble called Bonting. My daughter, when she was small, named some small wizened carrots after dead relatives and played with them weeks. This is an excellent gift guide.
Brilliant list! My granddaughter is 16 months and I'm totally into this type of gift, learning and playing without the mass produced plastic which is bulky and short lived (luckily her parents feel the same!) ... Ideas for future presents right here 😀
We have the rubber eggs. The kids (especially the teen) still loves to yell catch and hurl it at whoever is in the firing range. It’s been years and I still fall for it.
Absolutely love this - best kids gift guide EVER! Love Dave. And one of my first projects at Architecture school was to draw a technical drawing one of those sharpeners in Plan and Section view 🤯
Brilliant! Weirdly reassured by the fact I’ve already bought my daughter that exact box of magnatiles! Quite looking forward to playing with them myself 😬. Over the last few years I have bought more and more second hand for Christmas gifts - from Vinted, charity shops etc. it’s very satisfying!
We have a rock with googly eyes called Fred that my kids make beds and houses for too. Magna tiles are unbelievable I could throw out most other toys in our house and they’d be happy. Litter picker is on my son’s list this year too! And SO much joy from swapping out their grannies eggs for the bouncy ones and watching her try to break them…. Great guide 👍

I have played with them myself many a time Lindsay. And yes second hand all the way! absolutely addicted to Vinted
This is my kind of gift guide 🙌 Wondering how I don’t have one of those pencil sharpeners. Nostalgic much?!
utterly addictive. You will never look back
My son asked me for one. Until now, I refused to buy one. I am reconsidering my position. 😄
Perfect guide!
Would love the pencil sharper for myself!
100% with you
I love this so much, it feels so like what kids would actually want but adults would think was too random and not think to get them!
Watch out for rubber eggs! My daughter used to swap real ones out for rubber ones. I’ve boiled several!

As a mum to a 7 year old boy and 2 year old girl, I think this list is brilliant! Thank you, Annie. 💚💚💚
